still working on the 3d version

Another update to let everyone know that I am still working hard on the 3d update for Garden Planner. It’s moving along steadily and I hope to have some sort of a demo or beta version for people to try out soon.

Part of my thinking with the 3d version is that I want it to be different to other 3d CAD/design software. Obviously I want it to be very easy to use, but something I’ve noticed with other software that lets you design a house or landscape is that they tend to create a 3d object rather than a place. My aim with Garden Planner is that you can create a garden that feels like a place. So you canĀ  go for a wander around in the garden, look down at the flowers, lie on the grass and look up at a tree (see above image). Hopefully I’ll achieve something like that.
